Writing the Perfect Thank-You Note

The thank-you note is a staple tool for the relationship-focused real estate agent! Not only are they great for strengthening your relationship with current clients, but they can make the difference for good testimonials and even referral business. Here’s how to write the perfect thank-you note.

  • Handwrite it. Emails and texts are convenient and quick, but they just aren’t as memorable as a handwritten card. There’s something so personal and touching about being the recipient of a real, paper card that someone took the effort to write and mail. Handwritten notes will put you head and shoulders above your digital-only competitors.
  • Express Yourself. Not sure what to write? Make it personal by starting with their name. Then, get to the point by thanking them directly for whatever you’re grateful for — a listing, a showing, a purchase, etc. Including a personal detail about your experience with them is a great way to show that this isn’t a canned message. Don’t forget to sign it!
  • Personalize it. You don’t want to be unprofessional, but don’t be scared to show a little personality! Whether that means quirky stationery, stickers, or personalized doodles, the recipient will appreciate a human touch.

Everyone appreciates the personal message that a handwritten card sends! Make sure you’re making the most of this easy, highly effective tool.

Jim went above and beyond

Jim went above and beyond when it came to organizing what needed to be done, what steps to take to complete objectives, as well as made it quick and easy to complete these items. He was always available whenever a random question came about and was able to direct me where to find specific answers if he didn’t have them himself.
